T&G Constructors was contracted by Miami Dade College to replace 3 existing 500 Ton cooling towers with new 750 Ton cooling towers. The scope consisted of providing temporary piping and cooling tower for removal of existing, road closure and use of crane for removal of existing cooling tower and installation of new cooling towers. New steel beam supports, steel stairs and railings. New HDPE piping, drainage, electrical conduits and panels. New VFD’s, lowering on existing cooling tower to match height of new, installation of AHU in chiller room, provide new CHW piping and pump in chiller room. Due to COVID-19 shutdown, construction labor shortages created challenges for timely completion; however, T&G was able to accelerate this project by leveraging key relationships and resources to deliver the project on-time without compromising quality.
