Situation > Olympic Heights offers a specialized curriculum that focuses on Early Childhood and Teacher Education. The Academy needed an on-site preschool where the students could implement lesson plans with the children. The scope of work included the renovation of 3,691 SF of space, in order to create classrooms for the Teacher Education Academy. Additional scope items included 100 SF of outside storage space for playground equipment, demolition, installation of new walls, new doors, new windows, fi nishes, casework, kitchen renovation, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.

Action > The team was faced with an accelerated work schedule set by the client. Additional crew members were added to supervise and three shifts for 24 hour work coverage were assigned in order to meet the deadline. Another major challenge was that construction areas had to be isolated from the students; this allowed for uninterrupted school activities while uncompromising student safety.

Results > On time completion of the space exceeded the client’s expectations, despite the quick deadline and restrictive site. T&G’s goal as a company is to earn the trust and long-term business of the clients it serves.
