Trump Organization: Trump National Doral
SITUATION > The iconic Doral Golf Resort and Spa has been the site of numerous projects for T&G over the last 10 years. When the Trump family purchased the property out of foreclosure, there was no question the property needed a makeover. Ivanka Trump, daughter of the 45th President of the United States, had a high-end vision for the interior design of the property and her brother, Eric Trump, executed the massive renovation. Having had a long-term presence on property, T&G was awarded the contract and got to work right away on the overhaul.
ACTION > T&G was tasked with gutting the existing three-story building, built in 1964, and adding a new 7,000 square foot rooftop balcony and terrace. The project included the the removal and rebuild of the back third of the building from the lower level up to the 2nd level (two complete levels). In addition, T&G rebuilt 27 existing building foundations inside the building to allow the new steel/concrete structure to built. The existing pro shop was also renovated and is now the largest Golf Pro Shop in the country, as confirmed by the Golf Channel.
RESULTS > This project was fast tracked, completed in 10 months and the deadline was nonnegotiable as the resort was the site of the Cadillac Championship, a nationally-televised golf tournament. To keep the time line for the project required daily meetings on site with owner to resolve and confirm design issues as came up. T&G worked around the clock and the project was turned over right on time without any disruption to guests.
